Here's Wild Bill's prediction. Faith Hill is going to say it was something else that caused her to react the way she did.
One listener blamed it on a cramp. Gotta love it!

I was SHOCKED at Faith's reaction! Here's what happened, a second before they said the winner Faith raised her hands in the air - as if to say "TADA" here I am!!! But then she realized what just happened and her face was horrified!!! She YELLED, "WHAT!!! are you kidding me???" and they cut her off. Trust me - I watched it about 15 times thanks to DVR. I thought it was RIDICULOUS that Faith reacted that way and felt she acted like a spoiled child. Martina, Sara, and Gretchen all smiled and started clapping. They're the true winners. I was extremely dissapointed in Faith's reaction! Congrats Carrie!!

I actually didn't see Faith's reaction, I was watching Carrie the whole time to see what she would do. I am sooo happy she won the award, she really deserved it.

I think the Mississippi girl's fame has gone to her head! I was rather disappointed in her reaction too! I am (was), a People don't seem to get the vocalist of the year is based on how much one accomplishes in a year's time, Not How long they've been around. Carrie has had one BIG year! I wish her many years of success! The girl can sing!

That is totally wrong. She was JUST joking. She has too much class to act like that about losing. She was being funny about it. I'm sure after Tim didnt even get nominated for Entertainer of the year , she realizes what a joke the CMA's are anyway.

Really, she was quoted twice at her after party by a friend stating "no, I was not joking - that award was MINE". Hmmm...guess until SHE makes a comment to the public and her fans as to what her intention were we'll just have to continue making assumptions on what we saw lastnight.

If she makes a comment about the incident, days after the fact, it'll be a prewritten, polished, damage-control speech. You'll never know for sure if it's sincere or forced. So her making a comment publicly will not answer any questions about the incident.

All in all, if she was joking - it shows she's really an attention hog. To put it bluntly. She took the thunder away from the true winner with 'her joke'. Whether it would've been Carrie or anyone else...she should've acted like an adult not like a child "pretending" to have a temper tantrum.

must have rewound it 15 times also. My husband and I were SHOCKED at Faith's reaction. I think Carrie deserved both of the awards. Some said that Carrie didn't thank any of the other nominees when she accepted The Artist of the year award. Do they honestly think she was thinking of that!!!! What an Honor to win both those awards!!! Good for you Carrie!!!! I love her cd. Faith did act like a spoiled brat. She needs to remember there is always going to be someone newer, younger and better!!!!

If you see in that clip her demeanor was a playful one, Faith likes to joke and she has won enough awards anyway...I for one am ok with Carrie winning, sure it would have been nice if Faith or sweet Sara would have gotten it but this controversy is ridiculous and it only shows that people have too much time on their hands to spread negativity come on let's be civil please!

I wish I could agree that it was a joke, but I watched it over and over again on You Tube. Faith put her arms up, and was expecting her name to be called, and she was in total shock when she lost. I enjoy Carrie's music a lot, and saw her three times last year, but since when does the warm up performer beat out the A team? I was shocked too.

yeah right...i saw that clip and saw not one ounce of a 'playful demeanor'. this 'i was joking' thing is the biggest joke of all. it was plain to see she was jealous and thought she would win. she just didnt think she was being filmed. anyway....she didnt think a thing of it when she won early on in her career over the biggie's then. her oh so sweet demeanor now shows her true colors. i won't ever buy another Faith Hill cd. I am so happy that Carrie won. she worked as hard for this and more than these women who think they deserve it all just because they are who they are. Faith has lost mine and alot of others' respect. now Faith....did your kids see just how good a role model and poor loser mom is when she doesn't think she is on camera?

just because her staff, herself and her friends say she was joking, doesn't necessarily make it true. However just because WE say she wasn't joking, doesn't make it true either. Either way, the joke was in poor taste and there should be an apology to Faith's fans, and to Carrie. Besides, maybe Carrie doesn't give at flying $#!* what Faith did anyway. If Carrie was offended by then we all can be offended if we so choose, but until then, GET OVER IT!!!!!!!
